"Climate change exacerbates already unstable situations," making it a "serious threat to America's national security..."

While this is not good news, the words came from a remarkable new source: former U.S. Army chief of staff Gordon Sullivan last month (via AP Radio) and from a report issued by America's Military Advisory Board - - marking the second time the US Military establishment has issued a wake up call to the Whitehouse and other global decision makers.

Though the alarm bells rang virtually without notice in 2003, (via a report commisioned and endorsed by the Pentagon's most respected elder official, November 2003) -- this most recent announcement was carried by major news outlets around the globe, particularly here in the US.

(See pres. Bush's May 31, 2007 policy regarding global warming emissions ... link below)

None other than Gen. Anthony Zinni, Bush's former Middle East envoy & leader of U.S. Central Command, writes "We will pay to reduce greenhouse gas emissions today, and we'll have to take an economic hit of some kind. Or we will pay the price later in military terms. And that will involve human lives. There will be a human toll."

The Good News
Goodness gracious -- What can it possibly be ...?! ... Top brass in the U.S. Military community advocating environmental awareness? There's a Sea Change goin' on. The reality: a future of Climate instability & irregularity, has been legitimized. The Good News: people all over the place are acting accordingly. What's more, the solutions: a) eliminating ALL greenhouse emissions immediately, b) investing in socio/enviro sustainability strategies, and c) preparing for an era of broadly empowered solutions-orientation -- is not only gaining popular understanding as our best strategy against Climate Loss, it's becoming a cultural imperative. People at all levels of economic status and cultural identity, regardless of ideological differences, are concerned. PEOPLE, from tree-huggers to military generals, non-profit secularists to the world's biggest corporations and religious leaders -- are taking climate change, resource depletion and overpopulation seriously.

Due to the severity of the outlook, this new public identity is coming together rapidly; fast enough that we are collectively on the track towards preserving (and greening) the very domain upon which we build our lives.

We are all part of the solution.
