We congratulate our customers, 2007. This was an exceptional growth year for GoodCommonSense and the world movement towards environmental sustainability. Thank you one and all. Roughly and conservatively speaking, total purchases at GoodCommonSense during the calendar year 2007 will save the following when compared with conventional, non environmentally-efficient products:
> Over 6,500,000 gallons of water
> Well Over $1,000,000 in long term energy & utility bill costs
> Well Over 1,500,000 lbs of Global Warming & Air Pollution Gases
Also, Diverted from landfills (long term)
Over 40,000 light bulbs & lighting-related products
Over 13,000 alkaline batteries
And, Diverted from landfills (this year)
Thousands of lbs of glass
Over Ten Thousand lbs of paper
Tens of Thousands of lbs of poly-propylene plastics
Average long term savings per $1 spent on energy or water efficiency products is greater than $8 (based on aggregate of total sales, 2006).
But Wait, there's more ...
The Ultimate in Recycling
Our recycled paper line is consistently growing in popularity. Our recycled plastic rugs have been "selling like hotcakes" and our recycled glass tumblers, goblets, and accessories are moving fast these days, as well. Purchasing these items saves lots of energy & water, while keeping thousands of lbs of virgin materials out of our landfills, building a more efficient national economy, supporting Fair Labor practices, and more.
Energy, Fuel & Water Efficiency
"Lowest prices on the web" - that's our promise. Be sure to check out what will be the biggest product story of 2008, The ECO Fuel Savers, for an easy install that'll last a lifetime, improve fuel efficiency 10%, increase engine power, and reduce carbon build up and pollution.
We're Building a Non Toxic Future
This Fall we added a complete line of super-effective, non toxic cleaners, cleaning supplies, and water purifiers. Save money? You betcha ... These cleaners are super concentrated ... how 'bout eliminating health risks, too. Also available are non toxic pest-stoppers and sustainably-harvested brooms, mops and related. Don't forget our biodegradable waste bags and composters! Coming soon: a complete line of paints, wood finishes, metal cleaners, and bodycare!
Things Fun to Throw Away
We'll soon be adding biodegradable flat ware and food service items. Why? They rock -- and in short: none of today's plasticware or styrofoam was ever designed to be incinerated or buried in landfills. Today's newer, better, "veggie-plastics" can be landfilled, composted, or otherwise disposed of in a manner that bypasses the negative impacts associated with plastic trash. We can't wait to make these products accessible and affordable to you in the near future.
The Good News
On the Horizon, 2008: We plan to continue increasing our product offerings, redesign as much of the website as possible, & redouble our work towards helping our customers build an environmentally sustainable future... Our dream is coming true. Business has doubled & our know-how is improving. By shopping smarter, people are preventing pollution and expecting better products. Our customers are showing HUGE $$ returns on their investments and "making a difference." The GoodCommonSense mission is expanding.
We want to say thank you to each person we've served this year. Thank you for taking on today's challenges and helping to build a better world. Please consider our new slogan as you move forward into a brilliant new year: "Develop a Sustainable Lifestyle."
Happy New Year Everyone!
