The New American Consumer ... Thank you Whole Foods, thank you Wal-mart, thank you Treehugger. Thank you internet, thank you Thomas Friedman, thank you Al Gore, thank you Cradle to Cradle, thank you green movement.

It's been an amazing last 18 months ... from seeds planted in the 1960's - to today's new consumerism - it's fair to say that people living in the Western world, exposed to modern media, are considering "green" products, tips, investments, industries and more. The shift is on.

While we, as a global society, are far from achieving ecological sustainability - the wheels are in motion and there's plenty of good ideas yet to come. Check out the plethora of mainstream green products from "old school" companies, and keep your eyes peeled for new initiatives in government. Next stop - sustainability.
