Chris Searles, founder of GoodCommonSense, has started a news feed celebrating Americans who care for the environment. The feed adds 40 links a week, exploring all aspects of American culture, demographics, and economics.

Chris began the Green 4th of July tradition in 2006, after producing a series of Austin-area green festivals. Talking with Samantha Webber, the two friends agreed at that time something was missing from this seamless world of red white and blue ... they wanted to see a green 4th of July ... Green is patriotic.

After 3 years and 3 events, the website Green4th.com has launched, under a grander premise -- that freedom, our most fundamental American value, and environmental sustainability are inextricably linked.

Furthermore, Chris says, "Today's greatest challenge for Americans is paradigm change. "Green," "sustainable," and "environmentally beneficial" are human necessities. Those of us who care the most need to do more, we need to reach out beyond our social circles and express the urgency of these times to leaders, family, neighbors, and friends. Green is a new fundamental of the American Dream. It capitalizes on vision, cooperation, opportunity, intelligence, and progress."

GoodCommonSense wishes you enjoy a wonderful holiday, in a healthy nation -- and the greenest of years to come.
