About Garden Film
Designed to protect your plantings from weeds, BioBag Garden Film stimulates uniform plant growth and then biodegrades itself naturally into the soil. The film also serves as a plant warmer during frost and plant protector wind warnings. Garden Bio-Film is shelf-stable, just like paper plates or paper towels, decomposition being activated only by actual use.
Compared to Plastic
Regular polyethylene or polypropylene films can take over 100 years to begin bio-degrading. These products have to be cleaned, maintained, and stored or destroyed after use. Plastic films are usually sold in three to five foot rolls, making them difficult to carry and store. BioBag's 150 sq. ft. sheets are equal in size and price to plastic products but feature the added benefit of invigorating the soil.

About Material
BioBag Garden Film is made from Mater-Bi™, the first completely biodegradable and compostable bio-polymer in the world. Mater-Bi is created in an environmentally renewable process from GMO-free corn starch, vegetable oil and other plant-based resources. BioBags remain shelf stable under normal indoor & outdoor conditions. Use in the same manner as you would any "plastic" bag.
Usage
To use, simply prepare the soil and lay the film over the planting area. Cut slits to place the plantings and provide water access. Cover with mulch or dirt. Film will begin to decompose after 50-60 days as your crop reaches maturity. After 90 days film will be 95% returned to the soil,* adding nutrients in the process. The film can be tilled into the soil at any time during the growing process. *As verified by the Teagasc, the Irish Agricultural and Food Development Authority.
